Terms
Last updated: 23 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Dazoo when you use dazoo.app or the Dazoo apps. Dazoo is run by KONUS – Christoph Wörndle, Austria (see the imprint). How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.
1. Who can use Dazoo
You must be 16 or older. One account per person, with your own email address. Keep your sign-in safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account. Your @handle must not pretend to be someone else, and some names are reserved.
2. How Dazoo works
Someone starts a song on video. Others add their part, and Dazoo puts the parts together into versions of the song that everyone can watch, share, and build on further. That only works if everyone can rely on what they may do with each other's parts, so here it is.
3. Your parts and what you allow
- You keep the rights to what you record. Dazoo doesn't own your music.
- Others may build on it. When you publish a part, other members may add their parts to it and make new versions that contain it, inside Dazoo.
- Versions may be shared. Versions that contain your part may be watched, linked, and shared outside Dazoo (for example to messengers or social networks), always with the Dazoo link and the names of the people in it.
- What you allow us: a worldwide, free, non-exclusive right to store, show, put together, convert, and share your parts and the versions that contain them, and to show them when we present Dazoo (for example a song on our own channels), for as long as they are on Dazoo.
- You can always take it back. Delete a part or your whole account at any time. We then remove the part from every version and put those versions together again without it. If you started a song and others have joined, removing your start removes your recording, and the song passes on: a part you choose (or the next one) becomes the new start and its person the song's owner. Your name may stay in the song's history as its first starter until you delete your account. Copies that people already downloaded or shared outside Dazoo can't be pulled back.
4. What you may sing and play
- Only your own performance: your voice, your instrument, your picture.
- Songs you may perform publicly: your own songs, songs free of rights (folk songs, classical, traditional songs), songs under a licence that allows it (such as Creative Commons), and official starts by artists on Dazoo.
- Covers of protected songs only once Dazoo has the licence for them; we'll say so in the app.
- No playbacks: no karaoke tracks, original recordings, someone else's beat or recording, and no lip-sync. A licence for a song never covers someone else's recording.
- Only people who agreed to be in your video.
5. What is not allowed
- Nudity and sexual content of any kind, also not “artistic”.
- Anything involving the sexual exploitation of minors; we report it to the authorities.
- Hate, harassment, threats, bullying, and violence against people or animals.
- Illegal content, and content that breaks other people's rights (copyright, privacy, personality rights).
- Pretending to be someone else, spam, fake accounts, and tricks to get around limits or checks.
- Attacking or overloading Dazoo, or collecting data from it automatically.
6. Reports, checks and decisions
Anyone can report content in the app or at abuse@dazoo.app. We check parts before and after they are published, also with automated tools (for example music recognition and checks for nudity), and a person looks at unclear cases. If we remove a part or restrict an account, we tell you why and how to object; you can ask for the decision to be reviewed, and use the out-of-court dispute settlement bodies under the Digital Services Act. We suspend accounts that repeatedly or seriously break these rules.
7. Plans and payment
- Dazoo Free costs nothing. Pro and Premier are subscriptions, monthly or yearly; prices include VAT and are shown before you buy.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; it then ends at the end of the period you paid for. Songs you published stay as they are.
- Premier's unlimited songs and joins have a fair-use limit of 300 a month (started songs and joins together).
- On the web you buy through Stripe Checkout. Stripe (through its service Link) is the seller of record for the payment: it takes the payment, calculates and pays the VAT, and sends receipts and invoices; its purchase terms, shown at checkout, apply to the payment. The service itself is provided by us under these terms. In the iPhone and Android apps you buy through Apple or Google under their terms (cancel there, too). We never see your card details.
- We tell you about price changes at least 30 days before they apply to your subscription; you can cancel before then.
- Right of withdrawal (EU consumers): you can withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. Stripe, as seller of record, handles it under the purchase terms shown at checkout; you can also write to hello@dazoo.app and we take care of it. If you asked for the plan to start right away, you get the price back minus the part for the days you already used.
8. Changes and availability
Dazoo is new and will change: features come and go. We do our best to keep it running, but can't promise it is always available. We tell you about important changes to these terms at least 30 days in advance; if you don't agree, you can delete your account (and cancel a paid plan) before they apply.
9. Ending
You can delete your account at any time in the settings. We may end or suspend an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after a warning where that is reasonable, and we tell you why.
10. Liability
We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaking essential duties of this agreement, limited to the damage typical and foreseeable for it. Mandatory consumer protection law is not affected.
11. Law
Austrian law applies, without its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection of the country you live in still applies, and you can go to court there.
